You’ve mastered Instagram Stories, now it’s time to share Live video.

Facebook and Instagram Live are the newest trends that are revolutionizing social media marketing with in-app broadcasting. They are highly popular among millions of users and can work wonders towards growing your brand.

One of the key reasons for live streaming video is to drop the corporate veil and connect your brand with your followers in a more human way, which in turn allows users to take part in brand storytelling. All of which positions your brand and improves your followers’ experience.

Live video is a great avenue to connect with your followers and increase engagement on your Instagram profile. Live videos on Instagram can be filmed for up to an hour, and (depending on their notification settings) your followers will get a notification when you go live so they can tune in and interact with you during the broadcast.

Going Live on Instagram is rather straightforward, but we’ve put together a step-by-step for your first Live video:

Step 1

From the home screen, tap the camera icon in the top left corner of the screen.

Step 3

You have the option now to add a Title or create a fundraiser for a nonprofit using the buttons on the left side of your screen. The 4 lines indicate your option to add a title and the heart allows you to add a fundraiser.

If you do not want to do either of these, carry on.

Step 4

Set up your camera (we recommend using a tripod to prevent the dreaded camera shake) and frame the objects you will be filming in the preview screen.

Step 5

Tap “Start Live Video.

Remember that it will take a few moments to connect and go live, so be sure to start the video several moments before the action starts!

Step 6

Once you are satisfied with the Live video, tap “End” in the top right corner.

Step 7

Confirm that you want to end the Live video by tapping “End Live Video.”

Step 8

Once you confirm that you would like to end your live video. You have several options.  You can share it to your IGTV, download it, or delete it.

Voilà! You’ve just executed your first Instagram Live video! Enjoy sharing your day-to-day with your Instagram family!
